Erdrick
Erdrick is a legendary hero who is an ancestor of Hero, who must rescue Princess Gwaelin from the Dragonlord.
The legend about Erdrick is a bit vague : King Lorick relates that sometime in the dim past Erdrick fought demons with a "ball of light" until the Dragonlord stole it and hid it "in darkness". King Lorick believes that Hero is capable of finding this legendary ball of light and defeat the Dragonlord (and thus save the Princess).
